Hugh Grant has revealed his dad dancing embarrasses his children so much it causes them to run away in tears.

After reminiscing about the iconic Love Actually scene, where he struts around Number 10 Downing Street to Jump (For My Love) by The Pointer Sisters, Grant admitted he has recently started enjoying dancing, much to his children’s dismay.

The actor made the confession during an episode of The Graham Norton Show, where he was promoting his new film Paddington 2.

He told host Norton: “I’ve changed. I was reluctant to dance in the original Love Actually, but now I find that I like to express myself through movement. I find in old age that it brings something out in me. There’s something lovely about it and I get it now.

“If I’m having a miserable afternoon I like to put on Gypsy Kings and do a bit of dancing. But what I find is no one wants to dance with me. I beg my children to and they run away in tears!”

Elsewhere in the programme, Game of Thrones star Jason Momoa chatted about the unusual way he prepared for a recent role.

“When I was doing Conan the Barbarian I went all ‘method’ and had some stupid idea to copy what Marlon Brando did in A Streetcar Named Desire by asking a friend to punch me in the face for authenticity,” he said.

“I did that and it broke my nose and my wife was furious. She met me before I bashed up my face and got scars and I was much better looking!”

Also on the show’s red sofa this week are comedian Sarah Millican and singer Kelly Clarkson.

The Graham Norton Show airs Fridays at 10.35pm on BBC One.
