I’m A Celebrity bosses have hit back at ‘fix’ accusations, branding them “categorically not true”.
Viewers claimed the show was fixed after spotting Noel Edmonds and Malique Thompson-Dwyer wearing their rucksacks minutes before Declan Donnelly and Holly Willoughby entered camp to reveal they were leaving.
The Hollyoaks actor was booted out over fellow soap star Sair Khan, leading some fans to question whether the evictions are based on the public vote.
One tweeted: “Well I'm a celebs a fix, malique the only one with his back pack on before the result...What a joke #imaceleb #result.”
Another posted: “What a fix!! That’s 2/2 celebs that have had their bags ready before they are actually told they are leaving!! Noel had his bag on his lap, and Malique had his on his back!! #imaceleb.”
A third wrote: “That was an absolute fix why was Malique the only one with his bag on??? #imaceleb.”
A spokesperson told Standard Online: “This is categorically not true. All celebrities find out who is leaving the jungle when Holly and Dec announce this on the show.”
Edmonds was the first to get the boot after losing out in the public vote on Friday night.
The former Saturday night TV star, who reportedly received the biggest pay cheque for his appearance, said he was “disappointed” at going first.
Thompson-Dwyer followed behind on Sunday night and said he was happy to leave after struggling with food.
The soap star downed a glass of champagne during his chat with Donnelly and Willoughby, telling them he was looking forward to being reunited with his mother and Facetiming his daughter.
