Jeremy Corbyn is to star on a celebrity special of Channel 4 show Gogglebox alongside other 'mystery' guests in aid of Stand Up To Cancer.

The Labour leader will give his opinion on a selection of the week’s most-watched TV shows alongside a 'mystery' celebrity who will join him on the sofa.

He is not expected to be filmed at home for the episode.

The shows he will be watching and reviewing are yet to be announced, but he reportedly won’t get to enjoy an episode of his professed favourite soap, EastEnders.

A source told the Daily Mirror: “He’s really excited, though he’s more a fan of EastEnders.”

Stand Up To Cancer revealed that a handful of other high-profile guests will be joining the show’s regular TV-watching families for the one-off special.

“A firm favourite of Stand Up To Cancer, the Gogglebox Celebrity special will once again return,” a statement read.

Another posted: “Oh my god Jeremy Corbyn’s gonna be on Gogglebox can’t wait am buzzing.”

Others were less convinced, with one viewer tweeting: “Jeremy Corbyn to appear on Gogglebox: dragging up the dregs if they think Corbyn is a ‘celebrity’!!!.”
