It’s time for another prestige actor to enter the Star Wars universe.

That’s right, Jude Law will be appearing in upcoming spin-off Skeleton Crew, and fans are pumped.

Disney’s Star Wars Celebration is in full swing this weekend in Anaheim, California, and fans have already been treated to several upcoming show announcements, including a reboot of classic eighties film Willow and the upcoming third season of The Mandalorian.

Skeleton Crew director Jon Watts took to the stage on the convention’s opening day to chat with The Mandalorian’s co-creators Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni.

Alongside writer Christopher Ford, Watts confirmed that Law would be starring in the upcoming series, and that the whole thing would be set at a similar time to The Mandalorian – that is, years before the Star Wars films.

Apparently, it is set to tell the story of a group of children from a small planet, who must find their way back home after getting lost in the galaxy.

With shooting due to begin soon, the series will air sometime next year.

In addition to Skeleton Crew, fans were also given a sneak previous of the new trailer for The Mandalorian’s season three, as well as a trailer for upcoming TV series Andor.

This series is set to tell the story of rebel fighter Cassian Andor and will see Diego Luna reprise his role from previous Star Wars film Rogue One.

Set five years before the events of the film (convenient, given that he dies at the end of it), twelve episodes have already been filmed.

“It feels amazing,” Luna told the convention. “When I was doing the film, I was living every day as if it was the last, I didn’t know it was possible.

“Everything feels different because it’s been a long time… the beauty of this show is that there is no way they’ll kill me.”

In addition, Friday saw the launch of much-hyped Star Wars series Obi-Wan Kenobi.

On the hunt: Ewan McGregor as Obi-Wan Kenobi
Lucasfilm Ltd.

Starring Ewan McGregor in the title role, the series is set ten years after the events of Revenge of the Sith and sees Obi-Wan, the last of the Jedis, spending his time trying to protect the young Luke.

Much to fans’ trepidation, the series is also set to see the return of Hayden Christensen as Anakin Skywalder, or Darth Vader – a role he last played 17 years ago.
