If you love Tom Hardy, you’re in luck – you’ll get twice as much of him for your money in his new film Legend.
Telling the story of notorious British gangsters the Kray twins, who presided over London’s East End in the Fifties and Sixties, Legend sees Tom Hardy portray both of the brothers, giving a double-performance that’s carefully edited so that the twins appear on-screen together.
The first trailer has now arrived, offering a glimpse at how Tom Hardy will tear up the screen alongside, well, himself. Also starring in the film are Emily Browning, Kingsman’s Taron Egerton, and Christopher Eccleston.
Legend is decribed as a ‘classic crime thriller’, and is written and directed by Oscar-winner Brian Helgeland, who wrote the likes of L.A. Confidential, Mystic River, and Green Zone.
Hardy will be hoping for a hit with the film, as his most recent release Child 44 has already been deemed a box office flop. The Soviet-era thriller has only grossed just over $3 million around the world, and has been denied a cinema release in Russia.
Legend isn’t the only big film that Hardy has coming up – his summer blockbuster Mad Max: Fury Road re-boots the post-apocalyptic action franchise, with a special first screening last night bringing positive word on social media, despite an official embargo on reviews and reactions.
