Piers Morgan was branded a ‘loser’ by Lord Sugar after he lost a bet to the business mogul over who could shed the most weight.

The Good Morning Britain host started the challenge two months ago, agreeing with Sugar that the person who lost the least weight would donate £5,000 to Great Ormond Street Hospital.

The weigh-in during Tuesday’s episode of the breakfast show revealed The Apprentice star had lost 19lbs, while Morgan had only lost 8lbs.

The presenter hit back at the result, claiming his loss was due to an increase in muscle.

But GMB doctor Hilary Jones quickly shut down the suggestion, highlighting that Lord Sugar’s weight loss percentage was also higher at 9.54% compared to Morgan’s 3.48%.

After chanting ‘loser’ repeatedly, Lord Sugar opted to match his rival’s donation of £5,000 to Great Ormond Street.

He told the charity’s representative: “I’m so pleased, bring me my cheque, you can have that one also.”

Accepting defeat, Morgan said: “Well played Lord Sugar, you win, I lose. I’m staggered I’ve lost any weight. I’ve lost 8lbs. I’m quite happy about that. It’ll probably get me a DVD deal to lose weight.”

He then admitted: “I’m going to go straight and have the biggest fry up you’ve ever seen.”

Dr Hilary delivered a final blow to the pair, however, adding: “Can I give you some bad news? You’re both still overweight.”

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV.
