Does Samira *really* want the Doctor to find love?

She’s been one of this year’s most popular Love Island contestants, but the tables are starting to turn on Samira Mighty after she displayed some rather under-hand tactics.

The West End star incurred the wrath of viewers as she warned lovable Dr Alex off of new girl Ellie during Monday’s show, with her motives not quite a selfless as she made out.

Despite insisting that she had Alex’s best intentions at heart, Samira was quite clearly worried about her own position on the show… and it didn’t go unnoticed by viewers.

“Samira is worried because if Alex meets a girl, he won't choose her, lose her life line and she'll be dumped #loveisland,” one person wrote on Twitter.

Former Love Island star Kady McDermott wrote: “Samira you don’t care about Alex you just don’t want to get dumped from the island! True colours are showing!”

Obviously a little worried that new girl Ellie had her eye on the doctor, potentially jeopardising her spot in the villa, Samira rather harshly told Alex that she wouldn’t fancy him outside of the show.

“If you came up to her in a club I don’t know if she’d turn around…because she looks like some type of girl,” she told the unlucky-in-love Alex.

Clearly confused (and probably quiet offended), he responded: “I don’t know what you mean when you say: ‘She looks like some type of girl.’”

Quickly backtracking, she said: “I'm just saying a scenario…if a boy came in and he was on me, I’d be like: ‘Hmmm is that just because I’m single?’”

Later in the beach hut, she said: “Obviously we are the single ones, bombshells will come in and it’s the easy option to go for Alex and I because everyone is super comfortable in their couples and super happy. I just don’t want to see him get hurt and that was my main thing for Alex."

Cottoning on to her motives, Josh questioned why she was being so “frosty”, sparking a very tense exchange.

“You’re being a bit frosty. It’s Alex’s opportunity…this is his time right now, he has his opportunity,” he said.

“I understand that you feel at risk, a bit nervous, it’s rubbish to see the guy you are coupled up with, your life line in this villa [move on] because these two girls have come in. It’s a risk for you I get it.”
