Viewers have called Love Island's Chris Hughes and Kem Cetinay getting their own ITV2 spin-off show the ‘best news of 2017’ and ‘Christmas come early’.

It was confirmed on Tuesday via the Love Island twitter page that the popular contestants would be fronting their very own series.

The post read: "💪 The bromance is back! 💪 You'll be seeing Chris & Kem again soon. They're busy grafting away on their own @itv2 show! Watch this space...”.

According to The Sun, the two-part programme will give viewers an inside look at the pair’s ‘close friendship’ outside the villa.

A source told the publication: “It has been commissioned as a two-part series at the moment – with the thought to develop it into a longer running show.”

Fans of the pair were delighted at the news, and headed to social media to share their joy.

Some called them the next Ant and Dec and said the news was ‘a dream come true.’

Not everyone was quite so pleased, some Twitter users branded the pair ‘boring’ and ‘old news'.

Despite Love Island being a dating show, Chris and Kem’s bromance made them arguably the strongest couple in the villa.

During the series fans even called for them to couple up and win the competition, and despite Kem and Amber eventually claiming the £50,000 prize, Chris and Kem’s friendship is still going strong.

It’s yet to be announced when the pair’s show will air but it’s thought to be coming to ITV2 later this year.
