Love Island star Ovie Soko is set to present a cooking segment on This Morning after he emerged as the unofficial king of the villa’s kitchen.

The professional basketball player will join Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes on Thursday’s instalment of the ITV magazine show.

Soko, 28, proved a huge hit with fans of the ITV2 dating competition thanks to his chilled out attitude and heart-warming friendship with eventual winner Amber Gill, as well as his cooking prowess.

Confirming his latest venture yesterday, Soko said: “Message! Cooking on This Morning is going to be dope, but I’ll need to graft hard if my infamous eggs are to live up to the hype for Love Island fans Eamonn and Ruth.

“Ovie was undoubtedly one of the most popular Islanders this year and so we’re thrilled to have him on the show as a brand new guest chef.”

Soko and partner India Reynolds finished in third place during last week’s final, as Tommy Fury and Molly-Mae Hague took second prize and Gill and Greg O’Shea were unexpectedly crowned champions.

Maura Higgins, who finished in fourth place with Curtis Pritchard, has also landed a presenting job on This Morning after returning to the UK.

The Irish grid girl and model is set to travel around the country to film an “agony aunt” segment for the show titled Maura Than Meets the Eye in the coming weeks.

“I’m getting flutters about joining This Morning,” she said following the announcement. “I can’t believe it. It’s beyond my wildest dreams.

“I’ve grown up watching Phillip [Schofield], Holly [Willoughby], Eamonn, Ruth and the team. Mad to think I’m now part of that iconic family. Can’t wait to crack on.”

Langsford and Holmes are currently standing in for regular hosts Schofield and Willoughby during the pair’s seven week summer break.

This Morning airs on ITV weekdays from 10.30am.
