Married at First Sight UK: viewers left baffled as groom cancels wedding at the last minute

Married at First Sight viewers have been left baffled after a groom cancelled his wedding to a woman he had never met.

Wayne was due to wed Carrie, with whom he’d been matched by a group of ‘experts’ including a vicar, a scientist and a relationship guru as part of the hit show.

But just before their wedding day, Wayne revealed he had doubts about the unusual process and would prefer to find a partner in a more traditional way.

Fans of the show were confused by the groom’s decision, asking whether he know what the show was called.

One viewer wrote: “Blimey Wayne the title of the show should have given you a big clue! What a wuss!”

Another tweeted: “Wayne the TV show's called #MarriedAtFirstSight what did you think you were going to be doing???!!”

While a third asked: “Yes, the process of marrying a stranger is a bit weird but Wayne knew this would happen from the get go so why did he apply?”

But some viewers sympathised with Wayne’s plight.

“Everyone slating Wayne ... how many of you would marry a stranger. He had 2nd thoughts respect that,” posted one.

Must have been hard for Wayne at this late stage. Sometimes things suddenly just don’t feel right,” commented another.
