Celebrity MasterChef viewers have been left unimpressed after Ulrika Jonsson progressed to the next stage of the cooking competition despite serving underdone lamb.

Fans of the show described the decision to put the TV presenter through as ‘bonkers’, saying Aasmah Mir, who left the show instead, had been ‘robbed’.

Wednesday’s show saw Jonsson struggle in the restaurant stage before dishing up lamb cutlets, which the judges refused to eat.

“We have an issue here don’t we? And it’s not just about the white uncooked fat, it’s also about the uncooked meat,” critiqued John Torode, despite praising her side dishes.

“I wish I hadn’t seen the lamb. Your salsa verde is absolutely delicious, so is your bean puree. I’m sorry I can’t eat the lamb.”

But Jonsson still managed to make it to the next round, knocking out Saturday Live host Mir whose rice dish was also undercooked.

Viewers couldn’t believe Jonsson had made the cut.

Some even joked that the lamb was so underdone it was practically ‘bleating’.

After her disastrous main course, Jonsson managed to restore favour with the judges by pulling off an impressive rhubarb fool with cardamom cream and pistachios.

Speaking after avoiding an early exit from the competition, the former weather presenter admitted she was relieved to have been “given another chance”.

“I’m absolutely shocked but hugely relieved. I feel like I’ve been given another chance, hopefully,” she said.
