Netflix’s adaptation of a classic gothic novel is set to premiere on the service with a number of A-listers bringing the film to life.

Rebecca, starring Lily James, Armie Hammer and Kristin Scott Thomas, is an upcoming original movie from Netflix based on the 1938 novel by Daphne Du Maurier.

The film is directed by Ben Wheatley, who previously directed Free Fire and High Rise.

Rebecca is scheduled to be released on Netflix on October 21, 2020.

The film was shot in England in the summer of 2019.

Who's in the cast with Armie Hammer and Lily James?

With Lily James playing Mrs de Winter and Armie Hammer playing Maxim de Winter, Kristin Scott Thomas takes the third lead role as the formidable Mrs Danvers.

Tom Goodman-Hill, known for Silent Witness, plays Frank Crawley, while Bodyguard’s Keeley Hawes plays Beatrice Lacy.

The Handmaid’s Tale’s Ann Dowd plays Mrs Van Hopper while Sam Riley (Maleficent) plays Jack Favell.

The film follows a newly-married young woman (James) who moves into an old manor with her new husband Maxim (Hammer).

There, she discovers Maxim and the household are haunted by the shadow of his ex-wife Rebecca.

There is. The trailer for Rebecca arrived this week, revealing the lush locations and beautiful interiors that provide the film’s mysterious setting.

The script for Rebecca was written by Jane Goldman (Kingsman) along with Joe Shrapnel and Anna Waterhouse

It was previously made into a film in 1940 directed by Alfred Hitchcock, which won the Academy Award for Best Picture.

Rebecca arrives on Netflix on October 21.
