After a tweet he posted about troubled couple Olivia and Chris caused drama in Monday’s Love Island, Stormzy has returned to the social media site to share his reaction.

The rapper admitted he had missed the show due to be being on a flight when it aired, but asked his fans to update him on what had gone on.

He tweeted his 791,000 followers: “I just stepped off the plane fill me in what happenedddd”

Once he was caught up on the action, the musician retweeted jokes from his fans, clearly enjoying the part he’d had to play in that evening’s episode.

Some suggested Olivia might kick off at his next gig.

While others hoped to see Chris (who has amused fans with his rapping during the show) and Stormzy team up for a collaboration track.

The 23-year-old, whose real name is Michael Omari responded with the crying laughing emoji.

Monday’s episode of Love Island saw Olivia and Chris row after a challenge which saw the contestants forced to guess which islanders a selection tweets from the public were about.

One of the tweets was from a very high-profile fan - Stormzy had written a post stating that 22-year-old Chris could do better than his partner Olivia.

She wasn’t impressed with the suggestion or her boyfriend Chris’s reaction, and the pair spent the rest of the episode arguing.

Some of the other contestants found humour in the situation, with villa returnee Sam laughing as Chris sang Stormzy’s hit song Big For Your Boots to wind Olivia up.

Stormzy previously confessed to being a Love Island fan on Twitter, and he’s not the only celebrity with a soft spot for the show, both Adele and Liam Gallagher have admitted to watching it.

Love Island continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2.
