Brian Conley is the latest contestant to lose his place on Strictly Come Dancing, after his Jive lost him the dance-off to Simon Rimmer.

The game show host said that he wasn’t surprised to have been booted off after scoring just 16 points on Saturday night’s live show.

“Me and Simon have been here before, it never gets an easier really,” he said ahead of the dance-off.

“I have loved everything about this. It's truly a great show,” he told Tess Daly.

Craig Revel Horwood opted to save Rimmer, despite the fact that both couples “made mistakes”.

Darcey Bussell also saved Rimmer, which meant that Conley was automatically sent home.

The Sunday Brunch host held on to his place in the show by the skin of his teeth, having also scored just 16 points.

Ruth Langsford and Susan Calman were also tied at the bottom of the leader board with same amount.

“The amount of energy you put through your face, you need to bring to you body,” Shirely Ballas told Conley on Saturday night.

Debbie McGee topped the lead board during Saturday night’s show, prompting Craig Revel Horwood to do his best Bruno Tonioli impression and fall off his chair in the process.

McGee’s raunchy Rumba got a standing ovation, while Holby City star Joe McFadden was hot on heels after scoring 26 points for his passionate Paso Doble.
