We’re in double digits as we head into a new week of Strictly Come Dancing.

This week, it’s all to play for in the Ballroom as the post-Blackpool blues set in. And, in an added twist, all the couples will take on the Lindyhop-a-thon, a group dance with all-important extra points.

Week 10 has been all manner of things over the years – finals, theme weeks to just straight-up high-scoring extravaganzas.

Here are five of the best from the week 10 archives….

Series 3 (2005): Zoe Ball and Ian Waite – Showdance

Back in the day, week 10 was the final. And finals mean showdances. Dancing to America, Ball – who went on to host It Takes Two – and Waite, who regularly joins her on the show, danced a West Side Story themed paso-esque routine.

It was fierce, it was excellently choreographed and well executed – but a little too much for Waite, who lost his balance and slipped over during the routine. Their final performances weren’t enough for the title, which that year went to Darren Gough and Lilia Kopylova.

Series 8 (2010): Pamela Stephenson and James Jordan - Viennese Waltz

One of Strictly’s greatest Viennese Waltz’s came dressed in all-white and performed to Unchained Melody.

Full of elegance and grace, Stephenson and Jordan managed a full house, a rarity outside the final that year. They made it to the final, but missed out to Kara Tointon and Artem Chigvintsev.

Series 12 (2014): Caroline Flack and Pasha Kovalev – Charleston

Week 10 in 2014 was Around The World week, a theme that explored the globe through dance and a theme that has, probably rightly, never been seen again (it produced some questionable routines, namely an Argentine Tango to Zorba the Greek).

But Flack and Kovalev’s Turkey themed Charleston to Istanbul was a breath of fresh air, with quirky choreography, a catchy beat and perfect timing. Even if Kovalev did nearly get tripped up by his own flying fez.

They scored 38 – enough for the top of the leaderboard – and brought the dance out again in the final, which they won.

Series 13 (2015): Patrick Robinson and Anya Garnis – Charleston

In 2015 week 10 paid homage to Musicals – one of which was Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

Danced to that song, the one that was in your head when you read the name, Garnis’ choreography proved to be something special and perfectly suited to actor Robinson’s skills.

It was fun and full of life, scoring them 38 – although that wasn’t enough for top spot. That went to eventual champions Abbey Clancy and Aljaž Skorjanec for their disco Salsa to You Should Be Dancing, which is something of an honorary mention this week.

Series 15 (2017): Debbie McGee and Giovanni Pernice – Argentine Tango

McGee’s Argentine Tango, backed to traditional track Por Una Cabeza, had everything anybody could ever want – it was smart, it was sharp, it was sexy.

With crisp choreography to boot, the routine scored them 38 – 10s from Shirley Ballas and Bruno Tonioli. They revisited the dance in the final, receiving a perfect score, but it wasn’t enough for the crown, which went to Joe McFadden and Katya Jones while they finished anywhere between second and fourth place. We'll never know.

Strictly Come Dancing is on BBC One, tonight at 6:50pm
