Dani Mas Dyer was forced to quit Survival of the Fittest just hours after the show launched after suffering a painful injury.

The barmaid dislocated her shoulder – resulting in a hospital dash – during an obstacle course for the programme’s first task.

Taking on contestant Callum Pardoe in the ultimate battle of the sexes, Dyer appeared to fall awkwardly at the beginning of the challenge and was unable to carry on despite her greatest efforts.

The 21-year-old was taken to hospital to be checked over and it was later announced that Dyer would have to leave the competition following her shoulder dislocation.

Speaking about her exit, Dyer said: “For medical reasons, I can't take part in any of the challenges because I am no use in a sling.

“I will just be sitting around and not be able to compete and I'm not meant to move [my arm] for a week so it wouldn't be fair and there is just no point. I'll just be an extra spare part if I carry on like this.”

The budding actress continued: “I couldn’t put the past couple of days I’ve spent in there [The Lodge] into words so I am absolutely gutted I can’t do any of the challenges.

“I’m rooting for the girls all the way – we have to win, especially now. I’m going to sit back, rest and watch them every single night.”

Earlier in the show, viewers of the new show were left comparing the ITV2 export to Love Island in more ways than one as they noticed Dyer trying to keep her famous father – Danny Dyer – under wraps in a similar vein to Marcel Somerville’s Blazin’ Squad connection.

After confiding in one of her new friends about her famous father, the news about her EastEnders connection soon spread around The Lodge.
