Sarah Jayne Clarke has become the sixth contestant to be fired from The Apprentice 2017.

The clothing company owner had put herself forward to lead team Vitality for this week’s tour guide task after receiving criticism from Lord Sugar’s aide Karren Brady in last week’s show that she was “no fireworks, no disasters”.

The decision proved fatal after her team literally lost direction in Bruges, leading their gaggle of bored-looking visitors round in circles in search of elusive landmarks.

Team Graphene meanwhile, managed to snatch victory despite overselling their segway tour (which featured segways for a mere 15 minutes) thanks to a gamble on pricey souvenirs to sell on the cruise ship home.

Clarke decided to bring Andrew Brady and Charles Burns back into the boardroom with her, but ultimately it was the team leader who fell foul of Lord Sugar’s firing finger.

The mogul explained: “I’ve been wondering what you do and now I know what you do. You moved yourself over to a convenient place. I think you’ve been in a convenient place the last six weeks. And for that reason, you’re fired.”

Charles Burns got off relatively unscathed, while Brady was chastised for his ‘laddish’ behaviour. Ultimately he too was sent back to the house alongside Burns, but with a warning from Sugar ringing in his ears.

“Last chance is an understatement, go back to the house,” the businessman said.

But in her taxi home, Clarke revealed she felt it was Burns who had been at fault.

“I don’t believe it was down to me. At the end of the day people got refunds because they got bored, because they were travelling around and Charles was in charge of the logistics so Charles should have been fired,” she told the camera.

Next week the contestants tackle a product launch task which sees them introduce a brand new car to market, creating the commercial and pitching it to potential buyers.
