Louisa Johnson has become the latest winner of The X Factor, beating Ghanaian duo Reggie ‘N’ Bollie in the live final.

The 17 year-old singer edged the top spot after performing her rendition of winner’s single Forever Young, covering the Bob Dylan classic.

A stunned Johnson was extremely emotional, barely managing to speak as she thanked those who voted for her.

“Oh my god… I just… I’ve imagined this day for so many years,” she said. “You really have no idea how much this means to me, thank you so much.”

Johnson’s mentor Rita Ora was also delighted by the result, thanking the voters and Louisa for her hard work.

The ever-ebullient Reggie ‘N’ Bollie didn’t seem too upset to have come in second place, saying that they were “never devastated that we lost”, and praising their experiences through the series.
