Simon Cowell has been well and truly won over by Honey G after dubbing her ‘the greatest’ during Halloween week on The X Factor.

The head judge, who self-admittedly ‘hated’ the North Weezy rapper at first, praised her rendition of Will Smith’s Men in Black on Saturday night.

Despite the fact that many fans slammed the contestant for ‘butchering’ the hit song on Twitter, Cowell told the audience that he was a big fan while she described herself as the UK’s ‘top rapper’.

“This is the biggest turnaround I’ve ever seen for any artist,” he said. “You started off with everyone hating you, even me, and now it’s like the Honey G show.

“After tonight ‘G’ stands for the ‘greatest’,” he added.

“Honey G that was scary but in a really good way. You’re growing and getting more confident,” said Nicole Scherzinger.

But viewers were less than impressed, with one person writing on Twitter: “Can't even stand honey g, she makes me so angry that decent singers have gone home so she can stay. #XFactor #Fix.”

Another posted: “Is Simon for real? Honey G has got to go! #XFactor.”

The wannabe star - real name Anna Glifford - did nothing to win over fans in the VT, describing herself as the best rap artist in the UK.

“I'm currently living the life as the UK's top rapper right now,” she said. “It does not stop for Honey G.”

Elsewhere in the show, Matt Terry gave a rather raunchy performance of I Put A Spell on You, complete with black eye make up and scantily clad backing dancers.

“For me this is your best performance so far in the competition,” said Cowell. “Not just the great song choice but your commitment and the performance.”

5 After Midnight appeared to redeem themselves after last week with a rendition of Michael Jackson’s classic Thriller.

"It was fun, I liked the choreography, you did it,” said Cowell. “You showed you have personality.”

Saara Aalto took on Lady Gaga’s Bad Romance and the judges loved it, telling her it’s ‘okay’ to be different.

Four of Diamonds, who were in the bottom two last week, were praised for their ‘stage-presence’ and for ‘coming such a long way’ by Osbourne.

Cowell even said that he felt that he was seeing the ‘real’ them for the first time in the competition.

Gifty Louise was first up on Saturday night, singing Fifth Harmony’s In Love With a Monster.

“I didn’t know that song, honestly I thought it was bit of a risk,” said Louis Walsh.

The remaining contestants will find out who is in the bottom three on Sunday night.
