It was supposed to be one of the biggest TV highlights of the year.

But six episodes in, True Detective Season 2 continues to prove mostly underwhelming. Despite a starry cast, enlisting the likes of Colin Farrell, Rachel McAdams, Vince Vaughn and Taylor Kitsch, the convoluted and stilted plotting hasn’t had viewers hooked.

Now somebody’s even made a sign to find out if anyone can rediscover their interest in the Los Angeles-set second series. The paper flyer offers a phone number to call “if you have any info as to WTF is happening this season”.

The new series stands as a new chapter with a separate story to the critically acclaimed first run, which starred Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson as detectives solving a serial killer mystery in New Orleans.

The sign comes from Brooklyn-based comedian Jason Carlos Saenz, who runs the witty @saenzsigns Instagram account. Saenz creates and posts comedic signs across the city, uploading snaps of them to his social media pages.

Seriously though – can anyone maintain interest in True Detective Season 2? If you’re one of the few, you know who to call.
