X Factor 2017: The judges are given their groups as Clique crash out of bootcamp and Grace Davies sails through

The X Factor judges have been allocated their groups, and Sharon Osbourne wasn't pleased to have been given The Girls after telling host Dermot O'Leary they were her last choice.

She said: "They're too young, I'm too upfront. I don't want to hurt anyone."

However, Simon Cowell and Nicole Scherzinger were over the moon when they discovered they had been given The Groups and The Overs respectively. Meanwhile Louis Walsh was allocated The Boys.

This final stage of X Factor bootcamp saw dance troupe The Clique, who had impressed Scherzinger with their ‘asstitude’, (despite a lack of discernible singing talent) crash out of the competition.

Their dance-free rendition of TLC’s No Scrubs failed to impress the judges, with Cowell commenting: “That was the worst we have heard”.

But as the trio made their way off stage, one of their number decided to sashay away from the series in style, death dropping to the floor in front of the judges. Quite the exit.

Elsewhere it was bad luck for 19-year-old Iceland checkout worker Daniel Quick, who only managed a very shaky performance of Nina Simone’s Feeling Good.

His visible nerves led the judges to send him home, as they feared he wasn’t ‘ready’ for the competition.

Sent through: Grace Davies received a standing ovation for her original song

There was some good news though, Grace Davies who had wowed the judging panel in the audition rounds with her original song Roots, but struggled in the bootcamp group singing task, bounced back with another self-written track.

The Blackburn lass, who has more than a touch of the young Adele about her, brought the judges to tears and earned a standing ovation with the song, which was inspired by her ex-boyfriend.
