Do the Libyan desert in style

5 April 2012
Richard Mabb asks:

A few weeks ago (I think 16 August) you ran a story about a one-man touroperator taking people to the Libyan desert for about 15 days at a time.

Wecut out the piece but needless to say it has disappeared. I'm really keen tofind out a contact name and number so I can follow this up.

I'd be reallygrateful if you could look through your archive and let me know the details.Sounds crazy - but it's my idea of the perfect holiday!

Frank Barrett replies:

The person you were thinking of is Barnaby Rogerson, author of Cadogan Guides to Morocco and Tunisia and The Traveller's History of North Africa.

His next Libyan tour with availability is a 15-day Rock Art and Desert Kingdoms of the Sahara trip in March: £2,485 including flights with BA and full board. Book through Eastern Approaches (01578 730361).
