Cirque du Soleil are returning to the Royal Albert Hall in January 2018 for the UK debut of their brand new show, OVO, which features London gymnast Alanna Baker.

Baker will take the role of the Black Spider, a part she’s honed during tours to Japan and Australia. The 2011 gymnastic European Champion, Baker is one of a cast of 50 performers from 17 countries.

Following the record-breaking run of Amaluna, their previous spectacle, Cirque are hoping for similar success with their latest extravaganza of gymnastics, music and entertainment, this time themed around nature and the cycle of life.

Though the show, in its first incarnation, originally premiered in Montreal, Canada, in 2009, the upcoming performances will be the first time UK audiences will have seen it. OVO marks the eighth time Cirque have debuted a show at the Albert Hall since they first began performing there almost 22 years ago.

Tickets are now on sale for members of the Cirque Club, and go on sale to the general public this Friday April 28 at cirquedusoleil.com and royalalberthall.com.
