Singapore: Inside Out will bring creative talents from disciplines including architecture, food, fashion, film, music, literature, design and the visual arts to London from 24-28 June.

After making its successful debut in Beijing, the travelling showcase stops at Brick Lane Yard for its stint in the capital before heading to New York in September and a homecoming finale in Singapore in November.

Curated by award-winning architect and artist Randy Chan, the showcase celebrates the rising stars of Singapore’s creative scene and coincides with the country’s coming of age in its Golden Jubilee year.

Set within a scaffold-style pop-up structure, Singapore: Inside Out will demonstrate how artists join forces to produce new works.

The busy schedule includes energetic live performances, artist talks, panel discussions and film screenings. Visitors are encouraged to interact with both the artists and the works on display in order to discover more about the wide range of activities.

“Singapore’s creative landscape today is diverse and dynamic, with talents exploring new areas of expression and making unique contributions to the global creative scene,” says Chang Chee Pey, executive director for Europe, South Asia, Middle East and Africa of the Singapore Tourism Board.

“With Singapore: Inside Out, we are excited to present international audiences with a different perspective of Singapore. We believe that the showcase can catalyse future collaborations, as well as increase exposure and recognition for our burgeoning creative community.”

Partner events will further cast the spotlight on young talent. EX PARTE, an exhibition that brings together established and emerging British and Singaporean artists, will examine the connections and conflicts of moving from one’s homeland to a foreign land at The Brick Lane Gallery (exparte.london). Also, Brick Lane’s famous independent record store Rough Trade East will host a series of lunchtime gigs featuring up-and-coming Singapore musicians.
