The first ever running of this event is set to feature some well-known writers, such as Malorie Blackman and A.S Byatt.

Running for two weeks, Bookfest offers a large number of events in a packed programme.

Alongside a host of literary experts, Radio 4 broadcaster John Humphrys will be discussing his religious doubts, while Sophie Kinsella and others will be present at a book collector's tea on the opening day.
