Tate Modern hosts its third annual three-day bank holiday festival, with a series of events both free and ticketed.

Daytime will see interactive events themed around the States of Flux Collection display, from art talks to Olympiad games and field events, and Alison Knowles's performance piece in which she will make a giant salad and serve it to 300 people.

Other highlights include the eccentric pop star Patrick Wolf, the Quiksilver dance from The Cholmondeleys and The Featherstonehaughs, two films by the acclaimed Senegalese director Djibril Diop Mambéty and live music from the excellent Congolese band Konono No 1.

With an opportunity also to see the gallery's exhibitions Duchamp, Man Ray, and Street Art and the Tate Modern collection displays, you need never leave.
