Football zorbing on ice is kicking off for the World Cup

On the ball: A zorbing football match on ice comes to Queens

For those who can’t make it to Moscow for the World Cup – which most of us – there’s an alternative closer to home.

Raise your flags for London’s first human football zorbing on ice. Frankly, it’s surprising that no one’s thought of this before.

Queens Skate Dine Bowl are transforming their ice rink into a football pitch to rival the Russian pitches.

Across three Fridays, players can climb inside a 12ft inflatable football and compete with friends for the ultimate accolade of winning the Queens World Cup. Two teams of three players go up against each other in a match using “normal” football rules (or as normal you can get when you’re in a big, blow-up ball).

A trip to the rink includes a glass of prosecco at MEATliquor’s bar onsite, so the winners can toast to their victory and the losers can drown their sorrows.
