Innocent drinks are hosting a free “unplugged” festival on May 23-24 in a secret location just outside of London.

The festival will offer live music, talks and discussions, a wood fired spa and a banquet hall. Acts appearing include The Correspondents, DJ Norman Jay, 80s lycra legend Mr Motivator, The Hackney Colliery Band and Evening Standard columnist Grace Dent. There will also be a beatboxing flautist, an audience with the School of Life's mindfulness expert and foraging expeditions.

It promises to be a technology free affair: no wifi, no 4G and even electricity will either be solar generated or the kind stirred up by pedal power and giant hamster wheels. Festival-goers spotted messing around on their mobile will face light-hearted penalty challenges.

The smoothie company was inspired to host the festival after its research found many people feel life is "too connected".

Eat and be merry: the festival will conclude with a banquet

Douglas Lamont, Innocent drinks’ CEO, said: “With 1 in 4 admitting to feeling pressured to keep up to date with their social channels, as a nation the pressure to be plugged in has never been more apparent. People are missing out on what is happening in front of them and are too distracted by technology to enjoy the moment.

Revellers can have an incredible weekend without feeling the need to scroll through their social feeds.”

The free festival will conclude with a banquet using locally-sourced ingredients and there will be an afternoon tea laid on by the Meringue Girls.

Though Innocent have yet to reveal the location of the festival, they have announced it will take place near Sevenoaks, Kent.
