Roll up for the Priceless Wonderground
This week sees the launch of a new festival at the Southbank Centre which offers circus, cabaret, music and comedy all rolled into one.
Part of the Southbank Centre’s Festival of the World, Priceless Wonderground is a brand new series of live shows bringing together a whole world of glamour and spectacle curated by the team behind the acclaimed Udderbelly comedy festival.
Bringing a touch of 20th century Coney Island to the capital, Priceless Wonderground is built around a magnificent 1920s Speilgeltent featuring an expansive programme of eccentricity and wonder.
Headlining the festival is Australian circus troupe Cantina, a cocktail of showy vaudeville and circus fun featuring artists from La Clique, Circa, Acrobat, Tom Tom Crew and Circus Oz.
With more than 400 performances the festival runs until September 30.
Other highlights include international singing sensation Meow Meow, avant-garde punk pioneers The Tiger Lillies live in concert, world leading sideshow The Royal Family of Strange People, and London’s latest cabaret stars the Boom Boom Club.
Three times Olivier Award nominated comedy singing group Fascinating Aida will also take up residency for the whole of September.
