Scandinavia in Shepherd’s Bush: Little Feast launches a street food winter wonderland

Street food in a forest and a dubious-sounding grotto, it’s a winter wonderland in W12
Little Feast: Winter in west London as Scandinavia comes to SheBu
12 October 2015

Day and night street food market Little Feast launched in July, taking up a corner of more than a hundred year old Shepherd’s Bush Market.

It will return to its spot, towards the Goldhawk Road end of the site, next month in the guise of a festive Scandinavian forest.

It will feature a bark-covered floor and trees brought straight from Norway along with six wooden huts selling street food.

On-the-go fodder will include slow-roasted pork and lamb and flat breads with Moroccan shredded beef cheeks from Sticky Beaks, paleo (and gluten-free) dishes from Feed Me Primal, patties and baps from Cheeky Burger and wood fired pizzas from Tomattos.

On Saturday and Sundays, when the market will be open throughout the day as well as in the evening, a deli shed will also sell freshly baked breads, smoked fish and meats and cheeses.

Drinks come courtesy of The Cabin Bar, a former fish shop which has been transformed into a Norwegian-style fishing cabin. It will sell mulled ciders and wine along with cocktails, craft beer and wine that hasn’t been mulled – including a magnum of red for £45.

The festive fun will get cranked up a notch from November 13, when the market will start selling Christmas trees and weekends will see live music sessions including choirs and carol singing. Then from November 23 a giant advent calendar will be opened each day to reveal food and drink offers.

Something being described as a Dirty Santa’s Grotto will also launch later in November. It’s strictly for grown-ups and is for those who have been naughty rather than nice, apparently… we can only imagine…

Little Feast Winter will open Wednesday - Friday 6-11 pm, Saturday 12-11pm and Sunday 12-8pm at Shepherds Bush Yard, Goldhawk Road, W12 8HA. Visit wefeast.co.uk.
