Taxi app Uber are launching a more literal version of uberPool next week, on Thursday Sept 15 and Friday 16.

For two days, Londoners can splash about at Boxpark Shoreditch for free as the cab company host a pool party, complete with deckchairs and beach balls.

The pool will be open from 9am until 8pm, giving those who are lucky enough not to be at work the chance to make the very best of the last days of summer. There will be changing rooms provided, but guests will need to bring their own swimwear and towels.

Live DJs are set to get guests in the party spirit, and there’ll be plenty of food and drink to hand.

The firm, who appear to be testing the water when it comes to hosting events, say there will be a chance for swimmers to claim free uberPOOL credits too.

It's the first time the company have done something like this – in fact, some might say it's something of a watershed moment for the app.

Tickets for the publicity stunt can be booked at uber.com
