Usain Bolt interview: ‘I’d really like to buy Buckingham Palace’
Usain Bolt is a tough man to track down. The Jamaican sprinter, 31, retired from athletics last year as a world record-holder in the 100 metres, 200 metres and 4×100 metres relay. His reign as champion in all of these events spans three Olympics.
Still, he hasn’t put his feet up — he’s currently training for this year’s Soccer Aid and dreams of playing for his beloved Manchester United. Somehow, we caught up with him.
Greatest invention?
My signature pose, called “to do world”. People often think it’s called the Lightning Bolt but it’s not — I’m the Lightning Bolt.
Strangest thing a fan has sent you?
I was given a car door one time in Switzerland.
Best fact you’ve learned this week?
Strømsgodset is a top football team in Drammen, Norway. I should know — I’ve spent a week there training with them. I love football. I love competing in front of a big crowd. But most of all I love that this Soccer Aid game will make a difference to thousands of children around the world.
Life advice you’d like printed on a T-shirt?
“Anything is possible, I don’t think limits”.
