In springtime, London's city farms are pregnant with lambs, piglets, calves and kids, not to mention their feathered friends, ducklings and chicks. Many farms have feeding times and special sessions when you can hold or stroke the animals, and often invite visitors to come up with names for the new arrivals. Belmont Farm's lambs Sunshine and Cloud (pictured above) were named by members of the public.

It's not only farmyard animals whose young are cute. Head to the Sea Life London Aquarium to gawp at all kinds of miniature sea creatures, including baby jellyfish and seahorses, which start life smaller than a fingernail. Twitchers should make for the London Wetland Centre, a nature reserve that's home to hundred's of birds, many of which will be hatching right about now. And visit the zoo to meet London's newest wild animals — London Zoo recently announced their super rare Sumatran tiger Melati had given birth to three cubs.
