The buzz: A new concept bar hidden in an old pub on Exmouth Market with an unusual drinks menu including a ‘forgotten cocktails’ range.

The deal: You certainly don’t know there’s an old-school cocktail bar when you’re in the pub downstairs. Creaky wooden floorboards and leather armchairs lend it a vintage vibe and the quality of the drinks reflects their £9 price tag (very good rather than excellent).

Good for: Cooler evenings with the girls or nightcaps – black shutters keep it rather sunless and dark.

Order: Their twist on the Negroni, the Right Hand - sweet rum replaces the gin; or the Lavender Fizz, which has the kick of a martini

By the way: It has a twin bar in Bethnal Green underneath The Well and Bucket.
