Londoners aren’t overly accustomed to warm weather so in fan-fluttering temperatures we tend need a bit of cooling down.

Keeping your cocktails chilled at this time of year is a must – so why not go the whole hog and go frozen?

A whole host of London restaurants and bars are putting the freezer first. Here’s where you can pick up the capital’s coolest cocktails.

Bone Daddies

A frozen margarita is a classic of the well-chilled cocktail world. At Japanese ramen restaurants Bone Daddies, you’ll find an Asian twist on the Mexican recipe. The tequila and triple sec concoction is served here with a dash of citrusy yuzu juice, as well as lime and agave syrup.

Dishoom

London temperatures rarely reach the heat of Mumbai but, when they do, Dishoom has the city sorted. The perennially popular chain serve up a Colaba Colada, an Indian twist on the Pina Colada made with coriander, chai syrup, lime juice and dark rum.

London's best rooftop bars

Queen of Hoxton

Frozen cocktails were made for sunny rooftop drinking, as the Queen of Hoxton knows well. At their Viva Lost Vegas pop-up roof bar, they’ll be serving up all the fun of the fair with a refreshing Paloma Grapefruit Slushie, mixing tequila with the bitter fruit for slurp-worthy treat.

The Blind Pig

The award-winning bar at Jason Atherton’s Social Eating House arguably serves up the most frozen cocktail in London. It’s 5-a-day cocktail is inspired by children’s book The Very Hungry Caterpillar, and features five ice cubes made with the juice of the five fruits mentioned in the story. Apple, strawberry, pear, orange and plum are served with Patron tequila, lime cordial, Sekforde mixer and, of course, a gummy caterpillar.

On The Bab

Do you know what Soju is? Korea certainly does. The liquor is one of the world’s best selling alcoholic drinks, but few Brits have ever even heard of it. Korean “drinking food” restaurant On The Bab is on a mission to show soju off, and serves it up in slushie cocktails including a “Sojurita” made with cointreau and lime.

Pastaio

At Pastaio you can enjoy your pasta amid the great outdoors with alfresco seating at their Soho home. What’s more, a strawberry and lemon prosecco slushie is on hand for those sun-soaked lunches. It bares pleasing likeness to an ice cream sundae and is also a steal at just £4.50.

Red Rooster

Harlem soul food sensation Red Rooster is always up for a party, and on both sides of the Atlantic too. At its Shoreditch site, they’ll be serving up a summery Frozita cocktail, a mix of tequila, Aperol, Campari and Cocchi Rosa. If that isn’t quite enough of a fiesta, the drink comes topped with edible glitter.
