Iron Duke, Mayfair - review

Constant: Beers, quick and friendly service have stayed the same
10 April 2012

The Iron Duke has not been part of Fuller's Ale and Pie house scheme for a while, but this doesn't mean it's terrible or that the food's gone downhill - just that there's usually only one pie on the menu.

The well-kept Fuller's beers and quick and friendly service have stayed pretty much the same, making it a reasonable drinking experience.

The usual crowd of local workers still frequent it and the atmosphere is still the same. It can still be a hard pub to find, hence the common site of chaps on mobiles outside the pub barking out directions to their chums. Maybe not one to go out of your way for, but in a rather exclusive part of town it's nice to stumble across a relatively down-to-earth pub that hasn't gone over to the gastro or stripped out bar side.
