It’s that time again, when ambitious runners huff and puff along 26 miles of London’s streets. Watching your friends power their way to the finish line can be thirsty work, so pop to a pub along the route to refuel.

The Dial Arch

As the race kicks off, order from an extensive selection of cask ales and wines, best drunk on one of its comfortable sofas.

Info: Number 1 Street, SE18, dialarch.com

The Cooperage

Miles into the race, find relief in this atmospheric Victorian bar.

Info: 161 Greenwich High Road, SE10, davy.co.uk/cooperage

The Narrow

Halfway in, this Gordon Ramsay gastropub is a perfect spot to watch the action and encourage the runners to the finish line. Ramsay is a keen marathon runner, so it’s appropriate.

The Draft House Seething

Head to the Seething for some char-pit ribs and fries, sticky toffee pudding and some Mongozo coconut brews to revive yourself for the remaining final miles.

Info: 14-15 Seething Lane, EC3, drafthouse.co.uk

The Feathers

At the finish line and ready to indulge, treat your friends to a celebratory drink from their eclectic range of ales, then pep yourself up with Belgian chocolate brownies or salted caramel profiteroles.
