The Royal Oak review: Welcoming corner pub in Marylebone

A York Street boozer with all-vinyl sound system
Marylebone favourite: The Royal Oak in Marylebone
Harry Fletcher29 November 2017

You might remember this York Street haunt as The Temperance, but the handsome corner pub has been going from strength to strength since relaunching as The Royal Oak.

The venue is run by Golden Age Public Houses, who also own The Prince in Stoke Newington, and they’re on a mission to champion brilliant, unusual beers in WI. You’ll find Beavertown, Five Points, Arbor and Wild Beer Co amongst the 12 keg and 4 cask options here, which makes them a hit with Marylebone’s more discerning beer fans.

The place boasts a welcoming atmosphere, aided in part by an all-vinyl sound system too. In terms of food, punters can expect contemporary takes on classic pub dishes, as well as a quality selection of burgers from Burgershack.
