Ember Yard: There is nothing you don't want to eat

A menu to salivate over makes this Italian-Spanish tapas spot quite the tempting prospect

It’s difficult to find something on the menu at Ember Yard that you don’t want to eat absolutely right not this second. If you’re vegetarian, we bet the Hereford beef and bone marrow burger with harrisa, taleggio and piquillo pepper might not sounds like as tantalising a prospect as it is for most, but I bet you’re still tempted.

At this Soho restaurant, they’re here for a good time, and you’ll probably want to be there for a long time with them. Their food hails from the North of Spain with welcome interludes from Italy. Prawns come from the Basque grill – charcoal and wood burning reigns supreme here – with shaved lardo, pan con tomate and sprinklings of chilli lemon and parsley. Ember Yard doesn’t do things by halves – when it comes to pork, they actually double up on a dish of chargrilled ibérico presa and whipped jamon butter.

Vegetarians, if you’re still listening, don’t despair – their vegetarian menu is one to drop everything for. When offered grilled Delica pumpkin with buffalo ricotta, charred sourdough, toasted seeds and salsa verde, or a courgette flower stuffed with Monte Enebro goat’s cheese and honey, you don’t say no.
