Black cod and cocktails

Celebrate all that is Peruvian at London Ceviche week
James Rowland12 June 2012

Haveyou ever tasted tiger’s milk cocktails? Or cooked a 500-year-old traditional Peruvian dish alongside a top chef? Now you will have the chance as Ceviche, London’s hotly tipped Peruvian restaurant, is providing a week of events in celebration of the legendary fish dish.

London Ceviche Week runs from June 23-30, coinciding with Peru’s annual National Ceviche Day on the June 28. The event organised by Ceviche’s owner, Martin Morales, begins at the Peru pavilion at Taste of London and culminates in lunchtime masterclasses from Head Chef Gregor Funcke, an evening cooking workshop at Shoreditch House and a tiger’s milk cocktail party with music and activities to headline the festivities.

The likely highlight of Ceviche Week however is on Friday June 29 when Londoners will get an opportunity to be “part of food history” and try the Ceviche dish made with Peruvian black cod (Paiche). The menu also includes sea bass and salmon dishes cooked in fusions of chilli, tiger’s milk and red onions.
