CafeDirect Sao Tome instant drinking chocolate

A little disappointing

What: CafeDirect SaoTome instant drinking chocolate

Where from: £2.29 from Waitrose and Sainsburys (ethicalsuperstore.com)

Taste assessment: In spite of its Fairtrade credentials, our blind tasting revealed this instant drinking chocolate to be nothing special. If you’re making it using only water instead of milk as the instructions suggest, you have to heap several spoonfuls into your cup to get a properly satisfying flavour, which may be explained by the fact its cocoa powder content is only 16 per cent; somewhat on the low side for a drink which claims to be a “luxury” hot chocolate.
