British couples can save on steak this Valentine's Day

It’s one of the world’s most expensive and luxurious steaks, but from today, shoppers at Morrisons can pick up a 15oz Chateaubriand for just £15.

Cut from the thickest part of the beef fillet, the Chateaubriand is widely regarded as being the finest cut of beef.

The super steak would normally set you back £60 in many restaurants, but Morrison’s Market Street Butcher is offering the same cut at a 300 per cent reduction, just in time for Valentine’s Day.

The luxury slab of beef has been aged for 21 days, which ‘tenderises’ and ‘enhances’ the flavour, according to the supermarket giant.

It has a subtle flavour and is best prepared by flash frying it on both sides and then finishing it off in the oven.

Morrisons butchery expert, Paul Robinson says: “Our Chateaubriand will offer loved up couples this Valentine’s Day an indulgent dining experience.

“We know that couples can end up forking out a small fortune to dine out on February 14 so want our customers to experience luxury at an affordable price.”
