Five things Fay Maschler ate this week

Our restaurant critic drops in at Bob Bob Ricard and eats spicy chicken with Peter Stringfellow
13 February 2013

1. A first course of a prawn cocktail, left, looking as if poised to take over the world at lunch with my agent Eugenie Furniss at the inimitable Bob Bob Ricard.

2. After the heart-rending production of Quartermaine’s Terms, the comfort of braised oxtail with bone marrow, truffle mash and Pecorino and the joy of chargrilled octopus with chickpea fritter, red pepper and mojo verde at Opera Tavern.

3. Spicy chicken drumsticks from the buffet at a “media party” at Peter Stringfellow’s Angels Club, where he proudly announced impending fatherhood.

4. A teeny-weeny halibut steak with steamed tenderstem broccoli for supper as part of a 500-calorie day as stipulated on The Fast Diet.

5. Arrived too late to catch the Dragon Dance celebrating Chinese New Year at Bright Courtyard in Baker Street but happily didn’t miss grilled Chilean sea bass. PS. Reg is a snake.
