If you need an excuse to let go of your diet plan for an evening, then we’ve got a brilliant one for you: today is National Junk Food Day in America.

Across the US, Americans will be treating themselves to their favourite palatable delights, but there’s no reason why we can’t celebrate all things sticky, delicious and indulgent here across the pond too.

And while there’s no shortage of finger-licking good food to tuck into at restaurants across the capital - in moderation, of course - we’ve rounded up six mouth-watering recipes you can make at home instead.

So roll up your sleeves and get cooking - just try not to drool on your keyboard.
