Everyone’s favourite chocolate spread, Nutella, has revealed it is launching a new version - and it will be much richer.

Containing double the amount of cocoa as the original, Nutella + Cocoa is set to be an instant favourite for chocolate fans.

It’s set to drop in Tesco stores from September 2 and most other retailers soon after.

The price will match that of the classic Nutella spread, each retails for £2.89 per 350g jar.

James Stewart, Marketing Director for Nutella, Ferrero UK & Ireland, said: “Our new Nutella +Cocoa is the perfect addition to the breakfast table for those looking for a richer chocolate and hazelnut spread.

“Whether you’re topping overnight oats, or spreading over banana bread, Nutella +Cocoa is sure to impress. We can’t wait to hear what our fans think of the new addition to the Nutella family.”

Ferrero isn’t the only chocolatier mixing things up. Earlier this month, Lindt announced it was launching a vegan version of its signature chocolate, while Mars Wrigley is re-releasing its Snickers bars under its original Marathon branding.
