Ravinder Bhogal tells us where she'd take a hot date for dinner

Ravinder Bhogal, author of Cook in Boots and head chef at the monthly pop up dinner at The Dispensary in Aldgate

Where would you pay money to eat and how often?

I absolutely love Dinner by Heston Blumenthal (66 Knightsbridge, SW1X, dinnerbyheston.com) I wouldn't go too often - maybe for a special occasion or if I was feeling particularly pleased with myself. I also can’t wait for the relocation of Polpetto (polpetto.co.uk) because Florence Knight is such a talented cook - her candied fennel is genius.

Why?

Dinner’s Ashley Palmer Watts is an incredible cook - not only does everything look beautiful but the flavours are extraordinary too. I also love the interior - the jelly mould lamp fixtures make it feel like a wonderland.

Who would you take?

A very hot date - but only if he was putting out or paying (it's very expensive dontcha know!)

What do you eat there?

I especially love the hay smoked mackerel with the zing of the pickled lemon - such a fresh and delicate dish. Who could resist the iconic meatfruit and the black foot pork chop cooked medium rare is jolly good too. For pudding I have to have the tipsy cake. Even though I am allergic to pineapple,  it is totally worth it.

Book Ravinder’s next pop up supper club on June 16 at The Dispensary, 19a Leman Street, E1 (£39/9 courses, 9@thedispensarylondon.co.uk)
