The London Best: Feastivals

Wilderness August 8-11, Oxfordshire From the founders of Secret Garden Party comes Wilderness; a small, family-friendly, food-orientated festival. It has every comfort of a middle-class, city-dwelling lifestyle, but removed to a beautiful Cotswolds landscape. Live acts include Noah and the Whale, Empire of the Sun and Michael Kiwanuka. During the day, guests can enjoy banquets laid on by top restaurateurs Yotam Ottolenghi and Mark Hix (for an extra charge) or for pure decadence, visit the a lakeside spa where you can sip champagne in hot tubs. The three-day festival also features roller discos, debating workshops and a full-on cricket match. The festival partners with other entertainment acts and events to bring a few surprises as you wander through the 1,700 acres of ancient forest. Last year's festival saw a magical midnight screening  by Secret Cinema of Bugsy Malone in the middle of the woods, complete with an all singing, all dancing cast and a real-life splurge-gun fight. Prepare to get your ball dress dirty. Price: from £146.50 (children under 10 go free). How to get there: 70 miles/ 1 hour 20 minutes by train from Paddington to Charlbury via Oxford wildernessfestival.com
