What to expect
Located just off The Strand, this wine room and bistro is a good spot for a pre or post theatre lunch or dinner. It offers a variety of well-priced wines, complemented by affordable bistro dishes.

Hot Dishes
Head Chef Emma Duggan recently joined the restaurant from Gordon Ramsay Holdings. Her menu will continue to feature the restaurant's original style of classic bistro dishes with starters such as Steak Tartare, Quails Egg and Potted Crab. Main courses include Braised Rabbit Leg, Shepherd's Pie and Whole Roasted Sea Bass. The Hot Chocolate Fondant is a delicious pudding. In addition, well-sourced cured meats and cheeses from the cold counter provide the perfect balance for every wine occasion.

Drink Up
There is a 70 strong wine list, with 24 house wines by the glass and carafe, starting from £3.50 per glass. The restaurant offers a refined and delicate Champagne selection with Perrier Jouet available at £50 a bottle and £10.50 a glass. A concise selection of classic cocktails is also available, with an excellent choice of spirits, and a well-chosen beer list.

Ambience
Despite its central location, Bedford & Strand is tucked away on a side street with a lower ground dining area. This makes for a rather cosy, candlelit atmopshere.

Cheque Out
Expect to pay around £35 for a three course meal with a glass of wine.
