The duo behind celebrated restaurants Lyle’s and Flor have announced they will launch a new takeaway-only pizza brand later this month.

ASAP Pizza is the new concept from James Lowe and John Ogier, which will open for delivery via Deliveroo and click-and-collect orders from June 10.

Lowe and Ogier say that the project has developed as part of a longstanding plan to open a larger pizza-led restaurant, but that ASAP Pizza also fits "the necessities and pace of a post-COVID world".

ASAP Pizza will serve sourdough pizzas made with heritage British wheats, and the brand is set to have a “New York style vibe”. Pam Yung will be at its creative helm, a pastry chef whose international CV includes Bonci in Rome, Massimo Laveglia’s L’Industrie Pizzeria in New York, Le Vin Papillon in Montreal and Tartine Bakery in Seoul.

The menu is set to include both red and white pizzas, and ingredient-focused, contemporary twists on classics, including a Hawaiian made with grilled pineapple, cured pig’s cheek and pickled scotch bonnet chillies. Other pizzas will include a "Prosciutto" made with a version of the traditional Italian ham made at Gothelney Farm in Cornwall, as well as a “London-centric” pizza called On and On, which features green onions, new season garlic, wild garlic and wild marjoram.

Elsewhere on the menu, takeaway diners can also enjoy small plates such as burrata with asparagus and preserved lemon, and desserts including tiramisu and Happy Endings’s popular ice cream sandwiches.

ASAP Pizza will continue to use the same suppliers championed by Flor and Lyle’s, with toppings coming courtesy of Bermondsey’s The Ham & Cheese Company, La Latteria, Cobble Lane Charcuterie and Natoora.
