Beer and spirit cocktail axed

A drink which combines lager and the potent spirit absinthe has been withdrawn amid fears that it could fuel the binge drinking culture.

Deco was axed by maker Scottish Courage because of concerns that it would become popular with young drinkers who would use it as a way to get drunk quickly.

'We are committed to promoting responsible drinking,' the company said.
